Basicly hand writting forces you to stop spewing mindless garbage and write only what is of consequence. Additionaly its less distracting, no need to worry about font/sizes/margins and other shit. Just write.

I think the point is that you should plan before you write. Be it either in your head or on paper. Theoretically you could do it on the computer too, as long as you treat it as a plan and not the actual peice of work
